GKCs Visit to Three Camps

ON Friday 21 August 2026 AKC Robin Todd OM DS Grand Knight Commander of the GUOKGH visited a joint meeting of Nos 5 Col Cameron, and No 65  SJ Slade Encampments.  The joint meeting was held at the Wellington Inn, Wolviston near Billingham where Robin initiated Companion Graham Holmes into the Order.  Afterwards, Robin was presented with the No 5 Col. Cameron Tie and Pin Badge to mark his visit to the oldest encampment still parading.  No 5 Col. Cameron Enc, was commissioned on 4th January, 1889 since which time it has continued to meet regularly.

Following that, Robin presented  SKC Fred Ryder of 65 SJ Slade Enc. with his Grand Auditor's sash and 25 year Long Service  Pin Badge.  SKC Richard Simpson, Deputy GKC then presented the 25 year Long Service Pin Badge to AKC Dave Sams OM, also of 65 SJ Slade Encampment.  The camp presented Robin with an engraved crystal tumbler to mark his visit to the camp which has been parading in Spennymoor, Co. Durham since 24th November, 1920.

The following day. The GKC visited 149 Phoenix Encampment in Sunderland when he was presented with a framed image image of the Order's Illuminated Coat of Arms, showing the names and commissioning dates of the eleven encampments of the GUOKGH.
